To: Students and Parents of the Class of 2024
The School Board approved the date for the 2024 Graduation Ceremony to Friday, May 24th, 2024 at 7:30pm. This is a change from Sunday, June 2nd, 2024.
In the past, the Indiana Department of Education and Pioneer Regional School Corporation wanted to ensure that seniors met the required number of educational days to graduate so they pushed the ceremony back to allow for the possibility of inclement weather days. With the creation of Virtual Learning Days, this gap of approximately 10 days is no longer needed to meet the required instructional days.
The administration worked with the Department Leaders, Athletic Director, Senior Class Sponsors, and Guidance Department; together, we explored the advantages and disadvantages of reducing this gap. We are in agreement that an earlier ceremony would assist in allowing students to complete one stage of their life and move to the next without delay.
Again, the 2024 Graduation Ceremony will occur on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at 7:30pm.
